Ongoing support from the public is crucial to helping local law enforcement efforts.

You may have received a letter or phone call from our organization enlisting your support for our association to help us raise the consciousness of the public by taking gang activity out of isolation. If you have already given your sponsorship, we want to personally thank you for helping us educate and proactively intervene in our communities to make our parks, schools, homes and streets safe from gangs.

Any measure of financial support is greatly appreciated. If you haven’t already done so but would like to contribute, please make your check payable to Association for Los Angeles Deputy Sheriffs or ALADS and mail it to the following address:

Q & A

How will my support help the community?

Your support will help offset publishing and distribution costs associated with The Dispatcher. This magazine, which focuses on gang activity and ways to eliminate it, is distributed to educators, guidance counselors, students, business leaders and the community in general to help them become aware of and cope with gang activity. The residual funds are dispersed at the discretion of the board of directors, which is comprised of deputies.

How is The Dispatcher distributed?

Copies of The Dispatcher are available to all Los Angeles County K-12 schools. They are delivered free of charge to schools requesting multiple copies. Currently, there are over 20,000 magazines in circulation.

Who writes stories in The Dispatcher?

Writers are law enforcement officers and other experts with formal education and/or extensive experience with crime and gang activity.
